AGE LIMITS: Juniors 13 years to less than 17 years in the year of the swim.
Seniors 17 years and over in the year of the swim.
DATE OF SWIM: Saturday 21st June 2014 at 10.30 hours.
CLOSING DATE: Wednesday 21st May 2014.
ENTRY FEE: £35.00 (£19.00 if supplying own Boat & Crew).
DISTANCE: 8 Miles Tide assisted – Crossing the river.
PARKING: Free parking is available at the YEAABA pier Broughty Ferry. To minimise congestion at Balmerino due to restricted parking we require maximising people in vehicles. If possible please meet on the Phibbies pier no later than 9.00. Please DO NOT take your car down to the Balmerino beach area, this is private property.
No vehicles to be left at Balmerino during the swim.
BRIEFING: On the day, on the beach at the Balmerino start area at 10.00 hours prompt.
START: On the starters/referees instruction, swimmers should promptly access the water from the pebble beach east of the houses and form a line facing downriver. Start will be by loud hailer.
COURSE: This is a tide assisted, point-to-point, down river swim using the flow of the river, on a straight-line course in 3 defined sections:- Beach to any high span of Rail Bridge; Rail Bridge to Main Channel Span of the Road Bridge; and Road Bridge to Broughty Ferry Harbour, YEAABA Pier. Please follow your boat at all times.
FINISH: By touching the South West corner of the YEAABA pier. N.B. A swimmer finishing, but missing the “touch” due to tidal conditions will be accorded a certificate but no official time or place in the race.
PRESENTATION: Will be at the YEAABA clubhouse on completion of the swim.

In addition to the annual awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each category will be awarded a unique
‘Ian D. McIntosh Medal’ in Gold, Silver or Bronze.
All finishers will receive a personalized certificate.
